Once you do find a reliable moving company some of the stress disappears, and will save you valuable time. Choosing a reliable moving company requires extensive research. You need to gather and look for as much information about the moving company as possible. Be sure to ask about their background, policies and insurance. Also, ask them how long they have been in business, as well as prices, etc. You don’t want to be in the dark about any details pertaining to the movers. This way there will be no surprises when the actual move occurs or when you are billed. It’s a great idea to compare companies and not just choose the first one you see. Narrow it down and choose the best and most reliable company.

Another important thing to look for when choosing the best cross country moving company for you is testimonials and ratings. Look for “Satisfactory” ratings and check if people have left comments on the moving company websites. If you see positive ratings and comments, it looks like a good sign for you. Even if you think you may know all the details and information about the moving company, remember to always read the fine print. this way you can avoid any surprises or disagreement before signing or moving forward with the movers. Remember to research well and take your time. Don’t panic and rush into anything. It would be a great idea to look for movers a good amount of time before the actual move. Don’t wait until the last minute and have the burden of doing things too fast or making any mistakes. Prepare yourself and be organized. Use your time wisely and remember to not rush the process. So that you can be well prepared and less stressed.

With so many choices out there in the moving industry, it can be hard to find a company that both fits your budget and will provide great service and arrive on time, I used United Van Lines twice and had a good experience one of the times. The second they arrived 6 days late with my stuff, which from what I have read is a common occurrence with many cross country moving companies. Choose wisely and plan for them to be late!

My long distance moves have gone incredibly horrible in the past! That being said I have a few tips that will help you! Don’t think that the cheapest quote will give you the service that you want, 500$ of extra payment can sound like a huge savings, but not when your stuff arrives broken and late. Look at all your quotes and check the companies reviews on as many sources as you can find. Start as early as possible, and make sure to mark your important breakables as such and mark the boxes with colors, txt and whatever you can do to separate them. Look for companies that have a good history of replacing broken items quickly, or at least have an easy process of re-reimbursement.

Don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions and compare different companies. If you’re not comfortable with the answers or get the runaround, go to the next one. This is YOUR stuff you are trusting them with.

This article provides much excellent advice. Testimonials and reviews by prior clients are a good guide to the overall reliability of any company. It also helps to consider the ratio of positive to negative reviews. This is where having a greater number of client comments helps.

Checking ratings on different websites is a good idea. Testimonials give you a good idea of how the company is fared in the past and you can be reasonably assured that you are in the right hands.

There are a lot of factors to consider when deciding on the right moving company. Just choosing Joe Schmoe down the street because he’s local won’t ensure a smooth move. It’s another grueling detail to think about along with the move itself, but keeping possessions intact and safe is most important!

I agree that, researching and finding the right company may take up some of your valuable time, but some time invested in finding the right company can save you a lot of money. It also ensures that your belongings are in the right hand.

Thank you for the great article and awesome tips.

Finding the proper cross country moving company entails a lot of considerations to be discussed upon my family members moving and hearing out helpful suggestions by friends is a must. One should choose a company that best offers the necessary services needed in moving to another country.

When I was looking into moving across country this article would have been really helpful. I knew to call around and to ask questions, to compare rates and do a little research but I didn’t look into customer reviews or comments. This could have made a difference I think, hindsight is twenty-twenty.

With so many moving companies, and many horror stories from friends on their less-than-ideal moving experience, it’s good to know that honest, reliable companies exist out there to make moving, a traditionally stressful time, actually bearable.
